CASTING NETWORKS:
A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE 

FOR NEW ACCOUNTS

Getting started on Casting Networks may feel overwhelming but if you follow this guide, you should be set up in no time! Please keep all of your details up to date as this can affect potential work opportunities.

The steps are as follows:

1. Claim Your Account

4. Claim Additional Accounts (Parents With Multiple Children)
   

Please ensure that when you make any changes you wish to save, you click the ‘Save’ button.

STEP 1. CLAIM YOUR ACCOUNT

You will receive an email with the subject “A Profile Was Created For You By Bubblegum Casting”. The email will come from sender: notifications@castingnetworks.com. Please select “I need to create an account” if you have not used Casting Networks previously.

STEP 2. REGISTER YOUR DETAILS

After clicking the “I need to create an account” button, it should open a window that shows the following screen. Please fill in your child’s details accurately.

Once you click on the ‘Submit’ button, you will be sent a verification email. Please follow the prompts to verify your email address and finalise the creation of your account.

STEP 3. UPDATE YOUR PROFILE

Please fill out all of your details to the best of your ability. This is imperative to the success of your child as it ensures that they can be put forward for as many briefs as possible. Follow this checklist if you are unsure:

• Sizes - height, weight and clothing sizes must be updated as often as possible as your child is always growing!
  

• Credits - Have you booked any previous work? If so, this is where the details of those roles go. Please add the company, role and year as this will prevent any potential conflicts between companies.
  

• Skills - Can you play a sport? Put on an accent? Speak another language? This is where all that information goes. Please add any skills that may come in handy!
  

• Appearance - Any important information regarding your appearance will go here. Eye colour, hair colour, hair style, facial hair, willingness to grow or cut hair, details of piercings and tattoos all live in this area. Please keep this up to date.
  

This step is only applicable to families with multiple children signed to the agency.

SIZE HELP

To help determine the height and weight of your child, please see the below guide:

Height: 

In bare feet, stand tall and straight with your back and heels against a wall. Have someone run a ruler or something that can be placed on the tallest part of your head straight back to the wall. Mark the wall where the ruler touches. Measure the distance from the floor to the mark on the wall

Weight:

If you have the time, weigh yourself on scales at least twice in the day: when you wake up, before you go to bed, and in the middle of the day (if possible). Ideally, weigh yourself naked. Clothing can add weight, so you should avoid it if possible. 

Average every weight measurement for the day and that is the weight you record. To find the average, add all weights together and then divide by how many times you weighed yourself, e.g., 

(Weight 1 + Weight 2 + Weight 3) / 3 = Final weight

If your child’s measurements are not up-to-date and complete, it will affect your child’s chance of booking work. Clients often look for heights and clothes sizes and it is not our job to chase you for that information. Please provide all sizes in AUS and make sure you specify that they are AUS if possible. For example 6 AUS.

Chest - Male: 

Wrap the tape measure under your armpits, around the fullest part of your chest. Make sure the tape is snug, but not so tight that you can’t breathe normally. That’s your chest measurement. 

Chest - Female: 

Many aspiring models aren’t always aware that, in modeling, your bust size is not your bra size. It’s actually the fullest part of your bust. First, place the tape measure around the fullest part of your bust, at nipple level. Make sure the tape is parallel to the floor. Then, holding the tape measure, take a full breath in and out to allow the tape to slide to a comfortable, yet snug, position. This number is your modeling bust size.

Cup Size: 

Measure your Underbust: Stand with your arms resting by your side and ideally get someone else to measure you around your body, directly below the bust. Make sure the tape is right under your breasts, is straight all the way around and is as tight as possible. This is how the underband of the bra will fit, so the tape should be tight, but not uncomfortable. It's best to do this measurement while you're not wearing a bra, or you can do it wearing one, just be careful not to sit the tape over your bra or underwire. This measurement is your UNDERBUST

Measure your Overbust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust (usually over the nipple). This is best done while you're wearing a bra. Hold the tape gently so that the tape is resting lightly on your body. Make sure that the tape measure is straight across your back, and sits parallel to the floor. This measurement is your OVERBUST.

Then, go to https://www.berlei.com.au/bra-size-calculator to calculate your accurate bra size. The letter is your cup size. For example for a bra size 10A, the cup size is A. Please go through this whole process to get your cup size as many people wear the wrong cup size.

Waist: 

Just like your bust measurement, your waist measurement may be a little different from what you’re used to. It’s not your jeans size. A true waist measurement needs to be taken at the smallest part of your waist. This could be at your belly button or even a few inches above it. Hold the tape measure snugly, but not too tightly, to find your natural waistline.

Hips:

Many models incorrectly measure around their hip bones, resulting in a much smaller hip measurement. Instead, standing with your feet together, measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks. This is the hip measurement agencies are looking for. 

Outseam:

This measurement is to help fit for pants. stand with the feet shoulder width apart, in a normal posture with the weight evenly distributed on both feet and measure from the waist down to the ankle.

Inseam:

This measurement also helps fit for pants. Wearing only briefs, stand with the feet shoulder width apart, in a normal posture with the weight evenly distributed on both feet. The, measure the inside of the leg from just below the crotch to the ankle.

Sleeve:

Put your hand on your hip, place the tape measure at the center of the back of your neck, then measure to your shoulder and down along your arm and to your wrist. Stop measuring right where the wrist meets the palm of your hand.

Collar/ Neck:

To measure your collar size, take the measuring tape and place it around your neck, just above your collarbone. Then, place one finger between the tape and your neck. 

Suit:

You will need to enter the suit size using the sizing guide below. The sizing guide requires the lower waist measurement. The lower waist is measured around the part where you normally wear suit pants, just three fingers below the height of your belly button.

Hat:

Using a tape measure, place it around the widest part of your head, approximately one inch above your eyebrows. The tape measure should go around whether the hat should seat. Repeat the procedure a few times to ensure that your measurements are accurate. If your head size fits in between sizes, choose the larger size.

Glove:

Hold the tape gauge in the center of the palm and measure around the back of hand. Measure across the widest part of the palm but do not include the thumb for the most accurate glove sizing. 

Coat Length:

Measure from the center of your neck to around the mid-crotch if you're under 5'9” and Mid to lower if you're any taller than that.
